High quality and unsurpassed reliability from a name you trust.
The last thing a Histotechnician needs to worry about when processing tissue is losing a specimen due to its size or texture. With a revolutionary product called Histogel™ by Thermo Scientific Richard-Allan Scientific, it doesn’t matter how small, friable, or viscous the histology or cytology specimen is. HistoGel™ will encapsulate and retain the entire specimen during histological processing.
Just a few drops of HistoGel™ and the chemical reagents will start penetrating the specimen without allowing the specimen to escape from the gel. HistoGel™ is virtually unnoticeable during sectioning and will not “pop out” of the paraffin block during cutting. HistoGel™ will not retain histological stains, eliminating unwanted discoloration around specimens on slides. HistoGel’s™ patented formulation outperforms other agarose gel mixtures or thromboplastin at a fraction of the cost. HistoGel™ is also CE marked for sale in the European Union.
HistoGel™ is available in a case of 12, 10ml vials. HistoGel™ also comes with a starter kit. The Histogel™ Starter Kit contains 12 vials filled with 10mL of HistoGel™ specimen processing gel, two cooling blocks, and a dry bath incubator. The dry bath incubator is specifically for use with HistoGel™ specimen processing gels, and serves to keep liquefied HistoGel™ specimens in a liquid state at 50°C (122°F).
