When a piece of embedded tissue is placed into a cassette mold that contains molten paraffin, it is very important to have the tissue as flat as possible so that when sectioning, the ribbons have even pieces of tissue. With the HistoPress Tissue Tampers , flattening the tissue within the cassette mold can easily be done. With the HistoPress, the tissue specimens can be flattened evenly with uniform margins. HistoPress is lightweight, xylene resistant, and designed with an innovative shaft (handle) that is long enough to hold comfortably. The special shaft material on the HistoPress will not cause slippage during handling and stays cool even with the base being hot.
